Every day, an increasing supply of Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) is produced and published by a variety of trusted CTI resources with the goal of keeping the world appraised of the ever evolving and increasing activities and exploits of cyber threats around the world. This information often describes specific tactics and techniques used by those cyber threat actors, the targets they are attacking, and the potentially devastating impacts those attacks have caused. This growing abundance of CTI means that organizations have access to more and more of the necessary information to tune their system’s/organization’s cybersecurity efforts to real-world threat information and not have to resort to relying on stale/static cyber-compliance related mandates or generic best practice guidance or worse – peoples’ anecdotal and unreliable personal understanding of cyber threat data. However, as the availability of this powerful information (CTI) has improved, new data ingestion and contextualization scalability problems have come to the surface and made much of this data simply non-consumable and non-useable.
The Aerospace Corporation’s Cyber Threat Analysis as-a Service (CTAaaS) has been developed to help organizations quickly and easily harness the power of this CTI growth by providing a capability to measure the cyber risk posture of a system (with respect to the body of CTI knowledge) and thereby help organizations ensure their cybersecurity activities are more threat informed.
